Privacy policy VDL Groep

General

VDL Groep welcomes you to this website and appreciates your interest in our company and our products and services. VDL Groep attaches great importance to your privacy. That is why we believe it is important to inform you how we handle your personal data. This privacy policy applies to all personal data that visitors to the VDL Groep BV website or its subsidiaries leave behind. For the sake of transparency, we have described in this privacy policy what we do with this data.

Types of personal data

The personal data processed by VDL via the website often concerns your contact details such as a name and e-mail address, a search query that you enter or a question that you ask in the form. In addition, you can search for vacancies via the functions 'Vacancies, Working at VDL, Internship & training and Contact' and these searches can also be saved and linked to, for example, your IP address, as well as the information that a website visitor uploads or enters on the website . Of course we also process uploaded CVs and motivation letters.

In addition, information about you as a visitor to this website can be automatically stored, such as your IP address and your clicking behavior. We often extract this information directly from your visit with so-called cookies. You can find more information about this in the cookie statement.

We would like to point out that even if you visit the website as a business customer, we regard this data as (indirect) personal data and therefore guarantee your privacy.

Purpose for processing personal data

Data that you provide to VDL Groep via the website is processed by us for general business purposes, such as providing information about certain products and services. We can then contact you with the stored personal data.
Your data can also be used to send digital newsletters, provided you have given your explicit permission for this. We consider this form of contact to be VDL's legitimate interest.

In addition, the website is also intended as an application channel and vacancies are also displayed via the website. These processing activities are also considered to be VDL's legitimate interest, as well as necessary for the exercise of (the preparation of) an employment contract.

Receiving parties

The processing activities in any case include sending personal data within VDL Groep. This website serves as a central point, and personal data is forwarded to the relevant entity that you want to contact as a business customer or applicant. Naturally, these personal data will only be passed on if there is a necessary reason for this and only to recipients for whom the personal data are relevant. Your data may be shared with foreign VDL entities.

If VDL believes that you are using the website unlawfully, this is a reason to forward your personal data to a (legal) third party recipient.

There are buttons in various places on our website that provide access to social media channels. If you use these social media buttons, the privacy statement of the relevant social media applies and they further store your personal data. VDL has no influence on, and assumes no responsibility for, the use of social media buttons on the VDL website.

Retention period

VDL Groep does not store your data for longer than strictly necessary. For the purposes described above, a retention period of 6 months is reasonable. In addition, VDL may store anonymized data for statistical and research purposes. For personal data that we receive in the context of an application or the run-up thereto, VDL will not store this information for longer than 4 weeks after the closure of the relevant procedure. If VDL has requested and obtained your permission, VDL may keep this application data for a maximum of one year.

Your rights

Because we process your personal data, you have the right to:

Submit a request for access to your personal data;
Submit a request to correct or delete certain data if the personal data is irrelevant or incorrect;
A request for restriction and objection to the processing of personal data;
Make a request for data portability;

If you wish to make use of (one of) these options, please contact: AVG@vdl.nl. For all requests and your rights, VDL will weigh up your interests and comply with your request as much as possible. If you wish to withdraw your consent for any reason, we are obliged to comply.

All personal data you leave on this website is provided voluntarily. However, it goes without saying that we are not able to contact you, provide information and carry out an application procedure if we do not have the correct personal data.
